Experienced Legal Representation
"It is not what a lawyer tells me I may do, but what humanity,
reason, and justice tell me I ought to do."
- Edmund Burke, 1775 speech to Parliament on reconciliation with the colonies
At my Spokane Washington law office, I offer compassionate and caring legal representation in all matters dealing with marriage, family law, and relationships. As a highly trained lawyer, I will work hard to get you the best result. I am a firm believer in alternative dispute resolution, but I will take your matter to trial and assertively litigate on your behalf if necessary. I handle cases throughout eastern Washington, including Spokane, Lincoln, Stevens, Ferry, Pend Orielle, Adams, and Whitman counties in the practice areas including:
Collaborative Law and Mediation: Collaboration and mediation can take many forms and are used in many legal cases today instead of, or to avoid, litigation. The goal is to help parties resolve disputes in the most cost-effective manner and in the best interest of all those involved. Read more on my Collaborative Law or mediation pages.
Divorce and Family Law: Divorce and family law has expanded over the years to cover more than just the termination of a marriage. As an experienced divorce and family law attorney, I provide clients with legal representation for such things as property settlements, child custody, child support, visitation, spousal support, and marital property division. For additional information, please view my divorce and family law page.
Guardianships- A guardianship proceeding is the process whereby the court appoints someone to manage the financial and/or personal affairs of an incapacitated adult or a minor. A guardianship is generally used when an individual is no longer competent enough to use lifetime planning techniques such as power of attorney. More about guardianships can be read on my wills, trusts, and elder law page.
Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney: Ensuring that your wishes carried out when you are unable to speak for yourself requires that you have clear documentation of your wishes. Wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives are all designed to communicate to others what you would like. For more information about these important documents visit my wills, trusts and elder law page.
